Prof. Minghui Hong

Minghui Hong, a member of Academy of Engineering Singapore, a tenured full professor, a Ph.D. supervisor, and the founder of Phaos Technology, is currently the Director of the Center for Frontier Research and Technological Innovation and the Director of the Center for Optical Science and Engineering at the National University of Singapore. He serves as an Honorary Professor of Central South University, a Distinguished Visiting Professor of Xiamen University, a Researcher of Haixi Institutes and a Visiting Researcher of the Institute of Optics and Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also OSA Fellow, SPIE Fellow, IAPLE Fellow as well as IES Fellow. Prof. Hong is a renowned scholar and leader in the field of laser optics. He has long been engaged in research on laser micro-nano processing and inspection technologies, and has carried out international leading level research work in laser micro-manufacturing, laser cleaning, laser welding and optical inspection.
He has published more than 450 papers in leading international journals such as Chemical Reviews, Nature, Nature Nanotechnology (also featured in journal front page), Nature Photonics (research highlight), Light: Science & Applications, Nature Communications, Nano Letters, Advanced Materials and ACS Nano. He has co-authored 15 monographs, and holds 42 US, German and Singaporean patents, of which 24 patents have been granted and 2 have been industrialized. Prof. Hong is the Executive Editor of Opto-Electronic Advances, an SCI-indexed English journal selected by “the Project for Enhancing International Impact of China STM Journals” and Editor-in-Chief of high-level academic journals such as the International Journal Light: Science & Applications (Nature journals), Scientific Reports (Nature journals), Engineering, Journal of Laser Micro/Nanoengineering, SCIENCE CHINA Physics, Mechanics & Astronomy (in English and Chinese) and Physics (or Wuli in Chinese). In addition, Prof. Hong was also awarded the ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award, IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards, and the Service to Education Award by the Ministry of Education, Singapore.
Prof. Qian Xiao

In the past five years, Xiao has presided over three general projects supported by NSFC, nearly 10 provincial and ministerial projects such as the key projects of Jiangxi Natural Science Foundation, and nearly 20 horizontal topic researches of enterprises, with project funding of more than 6 million yuan. At the same time, as a main researcher, he also participated in many projects that were supported by National 863 Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Ministry of Railways. He has published more than 60 academic papers in Applied Surface Science, Journal of the China Railway Society, China Railway Science, Journal of Southwest Jiaotong University and other internationally-recognized journals, including nearly 40 SCI- or EI-indexed papers. His research achievements won the first prize of Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, Zhan Tianyou Award for Railway Science and Technology Achievement, Jiangxi Provincial Youth Science and Technology Innovation Project Award, and the second prize of the fifth Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Achievement Award for Universities.
Prof. Minhao Zhu

Doctor of Engineering, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor. Zhu is currently a professor of School of Materials Science and Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University, recipient of National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars (2010) and National 100 Excellent Doctoral Dissertation (2005), the head of Innovation Team for Yangtze-River Scholars of the Ministry of Education (2011), the first batch of excellent talents of the New Century in University of Ministry of Education of China (2004), expert with outstanding contributions of Sichuan Province (2005) and academic and technical leader of Sichuan Province (2010).
Prof. Shanyong Zhang
Professor Sam Zhang Shanyong（張善勇）, FRSC, FTFS, FIoMMM, better known as Sam Zhang, earned his Ph.D. degree in Ceramics in 1991 from The University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. He was a tenured full professor at Nanyang Technological University Singapore. Since January 2018, he joined School of Materials and Energy, Southwest University, China. He serves as the founding and current director of the Centre for Advanced Thin Films and Devices (http://fmae.swu.edu.cn/s/fmaenew/yjzx/).
Prof. Zhang’s research covers Energy Films and Coatings, Biological Materials and Hard Coatings. He has published 13 books and over 360 peer reviewed international journal papers with 31.3 citations per article and h-index: 56 and total citation of over 11,000 times as at 31 Oct 2021. Prof. Goh Hui Hwang

Ir. Dr. Goh Hui Hwang is a practising electrical consultant and Registered Electrical Energy Manager. His technical interests and expertise include electrical engineering, power systems, renewable and sustainable energy, embedded power generation, wavelet analysis, load shedding, and data mining. Since 2008, Ir. Goh has been dedicating his profession to leading various research projects, putting his main focus on fostering innovation, development, and testing of new technologies that can be used to address sustainable energy issues in the developing world. He has won medals from many international expos, for the significant contributions of his innovations to the progress and welfare of the community. On top of his academic leadership, Ir. Goh further contributes to the promoting and fostering of the development of science, engineering and technology as an Associate of the Academy of Science Malaysia. He is a member of the Senior Evaluation Panel for Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). Besides, he is also active in The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (Southern Branch) as the Advisor of IEM Student Section UTHM.
Prof. Wenping Cao
Wenping Cao (FIET, SMIEEE) received the B.Eng. in electrical engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing, China, in 1991, and Ph.D. degree in electrical machines and drives from the University of Nottingham, Nottingham, in 2004. Prof. Cao is a Distinguished Professor of Electrical Engineering with Anhui University, Hefei City, China. He received a “Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award” in 2016, the “Dragon’s Den Competition Award” from Queen’s University Belfast, in 2014, the “Innovator of the Year Award” from Newcastle University, UK, in 2013. He has been an editor for IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Industry Application, IET Power Electronics, and several international journals. His research interests include fault analysis and condition monitoring of electrical machines and power electronics.
Prof. Xinlong Tian
Xinlong Tian is currently a full professor in State Key Laboratory of Marine Resource Utilization in South China Sea at Hainan University, China. He received his Ph.D. degree from South China University of Technology in 2016, afterwards he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Huazhong University of Science and Technology from 2016 to 2019. Now he is the Principal Investigator of Marine Clean Energy Innovation Group, and his research interests are in the areas of nanostructured functional materials and their applications in electrochemistry, electrocatalysis, sustainable energy and fuel Cells.
Prof. Hongzhong Ma
Hongzhong Ma, 1962.7, male, doctor, professor, doctoral supervisor, director of The Institute of Fault Diagnosis of Major Electric Power Equipment, Hohai University. Mainly engaged in the condition monitoring, fault diagnosis and health warning research of power main equipment. He is also the professional committee member of Electrical Theory and New Technology of China Society of Electrical Engineering. He has presided over 3 projects of national Natural Science Foundation of China, more than 50 projects of national 863 Science and Technology Project and state Grid science and technology project at various levels. More than 20 science and technology awards at various levels; Published about 300 academic papers; Published 9 academic monographs and textbooks; More than 60 invention patents have been authorized; Supervised 3 post-doctoral students, 21 doctoral students and more than 210 master students.
Assoc. Researcher Juanxiu Xiao
Juanxiu Xiao, Associate Researcher, State Key Laboratory of Marine Resources Utilization in the South China Sea, Hainan University; PhD, Postdoctoral Fellow, National University of Singapore; Top Talent of Hainan Province. She has been the lead researcher of a number of projects under the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Hainan Provincial Key R&D Program, and the Hainan Provincial High-level Talents.
